About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am traveling though California an parts of Nevada and Arizona at the moment. I met a lot of Americans and am curious about their way of life, but I basically just read On The Road by Kerouac and booked a flight to the US. Now I try to hitchhike all the way and couch surf a lot to meet as many locals and locos as possible.

ABOUT ME

I am 25 years old and living in a shared flat in Vienna, together with my two best friends. We met in university in Vienna while studying something that can roughly be translated as the science of film, theatre and media.
I am originally from Germany though an that is where my folks still live. I have an older sister who introduced me to couch surfing and I love the philosophy behind it, since I am a little hippie at heart. I have some friends in a hippie settlement in the Portuguese desert but not the balls to join them since city life spoiled me a little with its many conveniences.
I love history and Vienna is full of it. I work in Viennas best rated hostel and know my way around. I can teach and show you something for sure. I know some funny anecdotes and nice places. I rather go out to bars than to clubs, so you can talk more, but I do dance occasionally.
I love traveling and hiking. Did a car trip through France, Spain, Portugal and Italy in 2013, a hiking trip through Kyrgyzstan in 2014 and a hiking trip through the alps near Innsbruck as well as many auditions for acting schools in Switzerland, Austria and Germany in 2015. In my spare time I do some acting and directing in the low budget scene in Vienna. Besides that I am curious about languages, especially dialects, and I always try to do some impressions. I do a decent Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bane from The Dark Knight Rises, currently working on Matthew McConaughey and Rick from The Walking Dead.
I also love beer tasting and will like you if you appreciate the German art of brewing pure and clean beer. I also appreciate dark humor, bad jokes and basic manners. Besides being German I am quite nice, as long as you are too.

I consider myself as liberal, tolerant and open minded. I don't like political debates that much though as they tend to get out of hand quickly. I respect every view as long as it isn't plain stupid. If that's the case I will let you know. I rather like to talk a out the fun and beautiful things in life and movies especially since I am kind of a nerd on that topic. You like Scorsese and Tarantino - I like you. See? Easy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like meeting new people. I like traveling and I like sharing. My sister introduced me to Couch Surfing, but I never really used it, just offered my couch, or spare mattress, to people offline.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked through the Tien Shan Mountains of Kyrgyzstan with a group of friends. We did 10 days of just hiking and sleeping in tents in the mountains. One morning, while bathing in an ice-cold mountain-spring, we were suddenly surrounded by wild horses, which was awesome. We then went on to climd the highest point of our trip and the view from 3930 meters high was breathtaking.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to cook some of my favorite dishes, which are:
Yellow Curry Bowl (spicy)
Schnitzel with Spaetzle and Champignon Sauce
Pasta with Tomato Sauce (vegetarian or bolognese)
Couscous Salad

I can also teach german and some european history.

I am eager to learn something about english dialects, american geography and history.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good company, interesting debates, inside knowledge, a real challenge in video games, a shared beer
