About Me

*Unfortunately unable to host at the moment due to unsuitable living conditions*

Hi! My name is Iulia and I am currently living in Manchester, United Kingdom but I am originally from Baia Mare , Romania. In my spare time I like to go to the gym, dance classes, read, hang out with friends, meet new people and of course, travel. I love exploring new places and hearing different stories from amazing people across the world. I am an SBK passionate so I am always up for discovering the dance scene everywhere I travel to so if you are a fellow latin dancer and are happy to tell me more about your dance community please reach out :)

I am currently unable to host travellers due to limited space and conditions in my shared accommodation, but I am always up for meeting other travellers.

I’m in a relationship so please don’t use this platform as a means to date or flirt. I would consider that I am a nice person but please don’t mistake that for flirting. I am just looking to meet new people, make friends and travel. Thanks for your understanding :) (only felt to mention this due to negative past experiences on this platform regarding this)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the idea of exchanging experiences, language, culture and stories with people from different parts of the world. I think this would make me appreciate more the opportunities that we get everyday and also gives me another perspective on how travelling should actually be. I think Couchsurfing really gives you the opportunity of reaching your travelling dreams on a budget, while also meeting new people and learning about it different cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

As I studied Music in secondary school, I have a very broad range of music that I listen to and enjoy: pop, classical, jazz, indie rock, and sometimes I feel in the mood for old music, any kind.
In terms of books, considering the amount of readings we get at uni, it is hard to keep up with the pleasure readings, but in general what I would choose to read would be related to personal development, leadership and now mostly politics and international relations related (because of my degree). When you're asking for hosting please include your favorite book and I'll share mine as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

First thing that comes to my mind when I think about amazing things I've done is my scounting experience. I had the opportunity to lead camps and organize activities for teenagers, while developing my skills and doing a loooot of hiking.

Teach, Learn, Share

Gym related info, dance (bachata, salsa, kizomba), and Romanian (if you ever wanted to learn haha).
