About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Update: Currently working in Düsseldorf.
I like to have fun and learn new things. Love to read and meet nice new people. good music, beer and an occasional smoke, though trying to live healthy in general. I am Romanian, but moved to Denmark when I was 18. After finally learning fluent Danish (and almost graduating from a Bachelor), I decided the time was ripe to move to the UK. But hey, Danish is such an international language... never mind.
Anyways, after 3 more years in England (Southampton and Bournemouth), finally graduating and getting my first job for 2 years, I decided to do something else. So I went volunteering in Ghana for 3 months, and I have kind of been travelling ever since (mostly around Europe, visiting friends).
PHILOSOPHY
I try to see everything positively, see the good in all people and enjoy the ride.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I learned about CS after I started travelling. I have been hosted and hosted myself a few times. Looking forward to having guests in Koln.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I so far used CS only twice, but it is really amazing how great a way it is to make new friends. I was hosted by a really friendly guy once in Andorra. Then I used CS in Morocco, where though still great to meet local people. It is unbelievable how many friends I have made and such nice, great people who helped me discover the world better through CS.
Interests
Travel, books, music, sports, beer, parties. I am pretty much into anything that makes me or the people around me happy. Never fussed about anything, always keep an open mind :)
Music, Movies, and Books
Lots and lots of movies, books and especially music acts. From the Russian writers (Dostoyevski, Tolstoy) to modern, slightly over-hyped writers such as Malcom Gladwell, I just enjoy reading about everything.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Avoided a bullet.
Teach, Learn, Share
I speak fluent English, but write it almost perfectly. Especially Business and formal English.
I know quite a few survival skills. Learned a few martial arts along the way. I can easily take all the fruit out of a pomegranate. Can also cook some amazing moussaka. I improvise everything quite well, and when I really can´t do something, I´m pretty good at finding someone who will.
I also speak (or used to speak) a few other languages.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can be an interesting person to talk to and do any kind of activities with and share experiences. I really enjoy cooking, and I am the type of person who always makes the tea and coffee haha :) I am generally optimistic and always enjoy to make the people around me comfortable and happy.
