I'm a single straight guy and I live alone in a condo on the second floor in a quiet neighborhood of San Diego with no pets. From my location:

1 minute to the California Interstate 15 freeway / highway
5 minutes to restaurants, movies, shopping
15 minutes to Balboa Park
20 minutes to Downtown San Diego, Pacific Beach, La Jolla, and Del Mar.

On premises: laundry, public pool and Jacuzzi

Sci-Fi: Star Trek, time-travel, space, astronomy, black holes, quantum entanglement, NOVA, Nature, other nerd / geek stuff.

Chess: I'm self-taught and don't read books on chess tactics or anything, but I play ok for an amateur.

Piano: I'm self-taught and cannot read music but I know some music theory and enjoy playing by ear. Classical, baroque, jazz & modern. I also play electronic MIDI keyboards and pipe organ.

Hiking: Cowles Mountain, Iron Mountain, Torrey Pines are all fun when it's not too hot out.

Philosophy: I'm not religious but I welcome discussions on religion. I have a scientific, faithless world view and I enjoy discussing ethics, morality, and politically-incorrect, controversial subjects. Whether you're Buddhist or atheist or Hindu or Christian doesn't matter, as long as you're capable of rational civilized discourse, I'm sure we'll get along.

Programming: Specifically computer graphics programming. Fractals, 3D, orbital mechanics, optics, wave propagation, that sort of thing.
