About Me

Hi y'all :)
My name is Ivan, I'm 25 years old, originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina and now living in Colombia since 2023.

I'm currently working as a private contractor in Cybersecurity industry.
I'm married, we've been together for 4 years now. My wife is Colombian and we bought a place in a small town at 2hs from Medellín. (It's called Maceo, Antioquia if you wan't to do the research). Oh, and we have a kitty named Pochoclo (Popcorn), he's 1 year old.

I did military service back in Argentina, 4 years of full service but now I'm officially retired from that line of work. All my knowledge in English and Portuguese is thanks to the army.
I have very good memories from those days, and I'm always willing to share them with travellers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been on the platform since 2018, I used to share my old bedroom back at my parents place in Argentina, but I lost access to that profile after I changed my credentials and passwords.
After 2022 I started to work overseas and I didn't have the chance to return to the community until now. We recently fixed our new place with my wife, and since we have an extra bedroom, I mentioned her the idea of open the space for travellers, with no cost at all.

The town is actually quite small (Only 5.000 pop.) but that makes it unique, giving the place a chill atmosphere, and a nice chance to connect with nature, and rest from the noisy, dirty, filthy civilization. (We really don't like big cities at all, you might tell).
Despite is a little bit far from Medellín, is worth to come and explore the surroundings, visit the nearest farms, fincas, charcos (lakes and rivers), and enjoy having a meal with us. You can come and stay as long as you want*

*Keep in mind that after a week you might get bored if you're not used to small towns lol

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I volunteered as a firefighter for a year. We saved many lives, and helped a lot of neighbors from a very vulnerable community in Buenos Aires. I also faced death from time to time, but I'm still here thanks to our supreme leader (I'm talking about god, ofc).

What I Can Share with Hosts

You'll have an entire room for you (That is currently a studio, where I work), or have the living room adapted if you want to stay there. My wife is very good at cooking, so we can prepare wonderful meals to you. And there's also nice restaurants in town, and very cheap ones.
