About Me

Born and raised in Vienna and moved to Freiburg in 2014. I started to study History and Sinology at the Uni there, but I quit and am currently working in a refugee home as a volunteer. After that I plan to start studying social work. I'm a huge fan of D'n'B and Jungle, although i do love to listen to some oldschool hip-hop from time to time as well. I like reading, mostly fiction (Asimov is da best!). I also absolutelt love nature, I think there are maybe only one or two things in this world that aren't better when done outside, watching a good Movie being one of them. Outdoor cinemas are great, but the full experience of sitting in absolute darkness, in a comfortable chair with surround sound and a huge screen is a feeling that is hard to reproduce on the outside. I tend to be a very enthusiastic person, and good news almost never fail to lift my spirits.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd love to meet and host new people that wanna come to Freiburg (or whereever i might be in the future). In turn, I also like going to new places and being hosted by the lovely people there, it's always a great chance to meet great people! Traveling itself is fun and interesting, but meeting the locals in a new place i've never visited and getting a chance to exchange views and experiences is what makes a trip really memorable. So I hope to get this opportunity on couchsurfing.

Interests

I love good movies (and trashy ones from time to time as well), good books (the ones that make you scared of the book ending once you're halfway through), good music (DnB gives me something no other genre can, but i also love rock, indie (sometimes), hip-hop, othef electronic music genres). I like Beer, although relentlessly drinking is sometimes a bit much for me. Intersectionality and Feminism are also topics i'm very interested in, they made a huge difference in helping me understand the world we live in. Caligraphy is something i'm quite fond of, although I won't claim to be very proficient in it.

Music, Movies, and Books

As mentioned before, I'm a huge fan of Drum and Bass and Jungle, but also of other genres. Rock (Led Zeppelin, CCR, Grand Funk Railroad, The Jimi Hendrix Experience to name a few), certain Indie music, oldskool Hip-Hop are the first that come to mind.
My favourite Movie is Alien, by far. But I'm open for suggestions :D
Books I'd say anything by Asimov (although I haven't read all his books, but they have yet to dissapoint), The name of the wind really blew me away (hehe) and graphic novels by Guy Delisle.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Depends on how you'd classify "amazing", but for me personally, I guess it would be going to Lithuania for a year after school to work, that really shaped me as a person.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well, I'm from Vienna, so I could probably share some viennoise culture with you, although that consist largely of being grumpy and resenting the world (seriously, that's what Vienna is known for). But no worries, I've managed to work around this and can share the beautiful aspects of the city in words and pictures with you. I love to cook and eat with friends, so I'd hope to share a meal and an interesting conversation with you. I have a particular interest in social issues, so if we can share that, I'd be delighted.
