About Me

I'm a 26 y.o. guy from Bulgaria, who recently quit his cushy corporate job in Sales to travel the world. I just came back from a 4-month long trip around the world, which took me across Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, Thailand, The Philippines, and the United States. Already looking forward to my next trip to Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic in mid-January!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It started out as me trying to save some money on accommodation in the United States and while that's still a major factor, I think from now on I'll mainly do it because of the cool people I met and will meet in the future! I was a little skeptical at first, staying with absolute strangers, but my experiences on CS so far have been some of the highlights from my trip across the U.S. I have my fair share of trust issues, but CS certainly helped me open up to people and trust them more. I am even now hosting; something I would've never done had it not been for those complete strangers (now close friends), who trusted and hosted me on my travels! CS RULES!

Music, Movies, and Books

I've always liked Country music, but REALLY got into it while road-tripping across the US! Went to a country show in Nashville, TN, jazz show in New Orleans, LA, and listened to some soulful blues at Teddy's Juke Joint in Baton Rouge, LA.

Huge James Bond fan since I was a kid; also anything by Scorsese and Tarantino!

Currently reading "Best. State. Ever. A Florida Man Defends His Homeland" by Dave Barry

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been to 55 countries and counting!

Teach, Learn, Share

Quitting my job to travel was THE BEST THING I've ever done in my life. The "to travel" part is important - don't quit your job just to screw around; quit your job to get back the time to do the thing you love, the thing that makes you you! For the last few years I felt like I was not in control of my life - I sorta just watched as it was happening right in front of me. It left me feeling helpless and realizing I needed a change. Nothing helps you regain that control over your life faster than concentrating on doing the thing you love the most! This was traveling for me. I'm happiest when I'm a vagabond, wandering from place to place, meeting new people, experiencing new things!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories! Lots and lots of stories! I also don't mind sharing a drink or two. Also sharing a meal; in my culture, we always get a bunch of different food and we all share - everybody's gotta try everything!
