About Me

My current mission:

Travel the world and experience local life wherever I go! I teach ESL online with my personal brand and I travel as much as I can :)

A small description of me:

My instagram is: @ricardotheteacher, it's another way to reach me in case of emergency.

I'm an open-minded and outgoing guy, love nature, camping and extreme adventures, and meeting nice people who share my philosophy of life. I won't deny that the "main attraction" of cities are amazing, because they definitely are, and I like to at least see them in person, but what I enjoy the most is seeing what life is like in every culture.

I have a bachelors degree in business focused on customer experience, but ended up getting a CELTA and teaching English. Currently, I work for a major airline from my continent and teach freelance.

My philosophy:

Right now it's all about leaving expectations behind, flowing and being grateful. Also learned the hard way that I can't save everyone, but also that I can do my best to do so.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My participation in CS:

Right now my housing situation doesn't allow me to always host. I'm back with my mother after the pandemic. But I'm all down to meeting new people through the hangouts part of the platform and would love it if I could surf at someone's couch when I visit a city :)

My experience in CS:

I've hosted, lived and traveled with CS members. My first experience was a while ago, I hosted a German guy, Jonas Ott. It was an amazing experience, he stayed in my house for a week and then after a couple of months another week. After that I continued to host a few surfers and then when I traveled around had the opportunity to hang out with some amazing human beings. I'm quite grateful because this platform was there for me in moments when I really didn't want to be alone in a city.

Interests

Life if full of possibilities, I choose if those are good or bad, and CS opens many good ones for me!! so my interests are meeting new people, showing my country to them and discover new places :)

-Videogames (guild wars 2, path of exile)

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite is classic rock and I really enjoy movie soundtracks, but I can listen to anything!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Build houses for people in need and work for a few years in that organization. My exchange in Mexico. I also climbed an active volcano in Italy and saw the lava coming out of it. (Stromboli)

Teach, Learn, Share

I know how to survive in the woods, dance salsa and others latin genres. I also know how to make flan and Mexican food.

I can also teach you some Spanish (or English) :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

The main thing I can share is a good vibe. Hopefully you have time to hang out and share a drink or maybe just a tea! I can help you improve your Spanish and/or English and am usually up for adventures :)
