ABOUT ME

I am truly a nature guy by habit and quite possibly by natural selection. When i am not working i practically live outdoors (with some time dedicated to video games when the weather calls for it) and i am actively engaged in my hobbies: Entomology, Herpetology and Mycology. I marvel at the beauty, wonder, weirdness and absolute design of life on this planet every time i see a butterfly emerge from a chrysalis or when i see the fruiting body of a mushroom unveil itself from the vulva. Such complexity deserves proper recognition! I occupy my time with these studies and i plan to leave my mark somewhere in these fields before i pass on.
When i am not delving into the mysterious world of science, i do find time for the more menial pleasures in life: video games, longboarding, drawing, sketching, writing music and short stories and a vast array of small interests i dont care to mention. All in all, i feel that i am a pretty approachable guy and understanding of anything you can throw at me. Come get to know me one day soon!

PHILOSOPHY

I am a Christian. Not a Catholic, not a Mormon but a Doctrinal Christian. I believe what i believe not because it is popular or because i was "brain-washed" into thinking this way, but i believe in God and Jesus Christ because too much has happened in my life that serves as solid proof of their existence. Not coincidence, not dumb luck, but sheer prayers being answered and near-death experiences that have no explanation other than divine intervention. When i am in the woods, and when i look at the design of nature I cannot help but wonder how an individual can think that this was all by accident? I simply will not believe that it was.

I have yet to officially have anyone stay on my couch but I am open to the inquiry and am looking forward to participating whole-heartedly on this site.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My friend Kenn Anderson (look him up on couchsurfing, St. George Utah) told me about Couchsurfing and what it is really all about, so i went to this site with much interest to create a profile. After seeing the sites activity and the way it is set up I am very excited to start meeting people and become an active molecule in the couch-surfing organism!

I am an avid music listener and creater and love to hear new and exciting tunes! I have too vast an array of music to list but a few of my favorite groups are: After the Burial, Within the Ruins, Rebelution, Mark Farina, Atmosphere, Rusko, Excision, The Yonder Mountain String Band, Mumford and Sons, Fit For An Autopsy, In the Midst of Lions, Modest Mouse...

Movies i really enjoy but i am sporadic in my choices. Today movies have lost their quality big time but a few gems still emerge every so often in cinema. My favorite movie of all time is The Nightmare Before Christmas, Tim Burton is a GENIUS! As far as others go, there are simply too many to list..

I enjoy books but i do not read as often as i should. I enjoy fantasy, sci-fi and fictional books when i do choose to read..
