ABOUT ME

UPDATE in 2016 (Nov):
My company was sending me on business trips quite often lately, so it's difficult to host anyone, as the trips are last minute most of the times. Still, feel free to ask. It should get better in the near future :)...

UPDATE in 2015: I haven't been using CS for a long time now, so most of the stuff I wrote back then is probably a bit outdated. Will try to "recondition" it soon though :) Till then, here is what I was like about 5 years ago :D

It's quite amusing to read the old profile, wondering what the heck I was thinking when I was 21 :D... I guess I did evolve after all in the last few years, which is great... in some ways. Maybe I should leave this profile unchanged for another 5 years, just for the purpose of possible future entertainment. :)

As for my hobbies. Among all the things that I've tried there's only a few that I do frequently: photography, bicycling and well, playing guitar when I'm not traveling.
I love reading books, too, but don't find time for it very often eather. :/

Even though I take heaps of photos everywhere I go, I don't upload them here, for a few reasons. So, for current or older pics, just look at my facebook profile: http://www.facebook.com/ivan.franz.3 (UPDATE 2015: the pictures from facebook are not that current either. I admit I've been really lazy with uploading pictures in the last 2 or 3 years... but every now and then someone tags me on facebook, so I guess you will see one or two current photos ;) )

PHILOSOPHY

be the change you want to see in the world

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I only surfed and met people for a coffee. Now that I've finally settled down for a while, I'd love to experience the hosting side of CS.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I fell in love with CS in 2008 while traveling along the east coast of USA... really loved every single experience! Learned a lot, changed my attitude a bit, tried to get more of it... the usual I guess :D

Interests

I'd love to improve on my guitar skills, but just can't find enough time to practise properly...

Definitely want to learn more about photography. I've done an internship at a photostudio when I was in igh school, but it's way more interesting meeting photographers and get influenced by their creativity and knowledge.

Learning Spanish got on my bucket list a few years ago. I tried to learn it while traveling across Latin America, but wasn't very successful.

Any kind of outdoor activities ( beach volleyball, hiking, slacklining, rock climbing,...)...
Indoor activities are cool, too. To make a long story short, ANY activity :D. There's not much I wouldn't do I guess. Challenge me!^^

Music, Movies, and Books

I have no all time favourites. There are so many great songs from all types of genres, that I couldn't even tell what genre I like the most.
Usually it depends on the mood I am already in or want to get in. One of the reasons I love spotify I guess, they have a playlist for all kind of situations and moods :D

Same logic applies to my taste in movies and books, I guess :D. Could be anything from educational to randomly entertaining.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I really don't know what to write here...

Teach, Learn, Share

hmm... what can I teach you besides some phrases in the languages that I know?...I'm doing a lot of different things, but I'm not professional or even close to it in any of them, so I guess I could only teach you the basics in photography, volleyball, slacklining... and bicycling :D
On my Latin America trip I became an expert in waiting, so I can teach you that, I guess :)... We could just sit there for hours, doing NOTHING... just wait^^.

Want to learn anything you can teach me!!! Doesn't matter if it's motocross or cooking...
But especially spanish :D.... surfing would be fun too!
