ABOUT ME

A simple guy (or at least, trying to be), with a passion for traveling and a positive mindset. Hate sitting at home, but ironically doing just that most of the time (I'm a web developer). I consider the whole world to be my home, and my mission is to visit every part of it before I kick the bucket :)

PHILOSOPHY

Don't do harm - to other people, other species or the environment. This is my main guiding principle.

I have a very particular attitude to tourism, that some might consider strange or even arrogant. Usually I'm not very interested in famous sights (churches, museums, monuments, historic places) - not that I specifically try to avoid them, I just don't like the idea of crossing 'things to see' off a checklist. I rather prefer 'discovering' things myself - and most of the time they wouldn't even be very interesting to anyone else. I do like history, but somehow historical significance of the place fails to add much to how I perceive it. A simple city street or a park have as much chance to excite me as the Buckingham palace or the Reichstag...

Favorite activities: finding myself in the middle of nowhere with only a backpack and no certain plans, climbing whatever hill or mountain I can find, walking long trails, riding my bike until I get tired and hungry, sitting on an empty beach at sunset, riding the waves and snowy slopes on a board, walking barefoot, listening to music.

Traveled overland from Finland to Hong Kong - took only 2 months :)
Climbed a mountain in Norway at night.
Walked a 90km track (among 5 other shorter ones) and surfed in New Zealand.
Witnessed the beauty of Kamchatka.
