About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to grow by understanding and appreciating different viewpoints :)

ABOUT ME

I was born in Belgrade, Serbia, and grew up in America. The dual culture situation has shaped my worldview; ask me about it if you're curious :)

I'm easy going and friendly, and I love to learn/share/talk/listen/laugh with people.

I love to travel! I think beauty exists in every corner of the world, and I wanna find it and give it a big high five. I love to interact with new ideas, because I think that perception is relative, and the best way to get closer to what is real and true is to look at it from many different perspectives. This is why I'm sure I'd love to meet you, because there's probably something we could learn from each other!

My favorite ways to interact with new perspectives include: observing art, partying until dawn, trying new foods, listening to new music (maybe even participating, if I can keep up..), reading, and giving high fives.

I also sometimes like to creatively express the jumble of ideas in my head. I love to do this occasionally through photography or music. Teach me a song!

PHILOSOPHY

living is learning. i don't want to stop either just yet :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This coming trip to Europe will be my first CouchSurfing experience, and I'm very excited for it!

As for travels, I studied abroad in Thailand for 4 months, and afterward explored Asia for another 3 months. I got to see parts of Cambodia, Laos, Japan, and Taiwan during that time.

consistently favorite music is:
air, black keys, cat stevens, daft punk, dr. dog, elliott smith, freddy king, hans zimmer, jj cale, keith jarrett, the kinks, lcd soundsystem, led zeppelin, louis armstrong, the ol' ludwig van, mars volta, pink floyd, phoenix, porcupine tree, rodrigo y gabriela, supertramp, sticky k, soad, weezer, white stripes

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the coolest things I've ever seen was while swimming with agitation-sensitive bioluminescent microbes on an island (southern Koh Chang) in Thailand. These guys were microscopic life that would light up when you touched them, which means that when there are tens of thousands of them in the water, your every movement is followed by a flash of fireworks that looks like a stream of shooting stars. It was like conducting a celestial orchestra! Or "swimming through the universe", as our professor said in a very dramatic, British voice. Crazy awesome!
