About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learning Transcendental Meditation!

ABOUT ME

Enthusiastic, communicative, friendly, open-minded, chaotic, sometimes happy, sometimes sad... that's how I would describe myself... People often call me well-balanced but I know better. ;)

I've been a member of HC for some years, but no one ever sent me a request (can you believe it?). Seems like no one wants to visit Darmstadt. Which is sad, because Darmstadt, even though it's small, it's famous for its art noveau! If you are interested in arts and architecture, you will find some nice places to visit, like the Mathildenhöhe: a beautiful place on a hill with an art museum, a Russian chapel and some famous architects' houses.
Night life isn't so bad, either. We have a very lively scene of musicians, DJs and music producers living in Darmstadt, so there's always something going on.
Our house is very close to the city centre and to the Staatstheater, where I also work as a hostess.

I travel like Bear Grylls !
You are a hardcore traveler with a stomach of steel, and you'll eat a grub out of a tree long before you are even hungry. You can't remember the last time you showered, but you still look good.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: My favourite directors are David Lynch, Ang Lee and Jim Jarmusch. And I absolutely ♥ Hongkong movies!
Music: Mostly minimal electro stuff when I go out. At home I will listen to anything interesting!
Books: All-time faves are "The Land of Laughs" by Jonathan Carroll and "Hard-boiled Wonderland" by Haruki Murakami

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

* What I like most about travelling is that I feel so wide awake... sucking in all the different impressions, smells, sounds, people, landscape... makes me instantly happy. :)
* Lately I was most impressed when travelling in China, especially in the Buddhist places.... e.g. a trip on Lantau Island - first a looooong ride by cable car over foggy green hills, then the beautiful monastery on the sunny hill top, full of peace and flowers - will stay in my mind forever.
* My early trips with my best girlfriends: missing planes in the USA - eating from fig trees for three days and sleeping on unguarded boats when we ran out of money in Crotia - getting into a streetfight in Mexico City because we had to go out for a beer in the middle of the night...
* I haven't yet travelled as extensively as I'd like to, but I hope I can affort it more often in the future!
