ABOUT ME

I currently live in Vilnius and work in a museum, a job which I enjoy very much! Just a year ago I was a student in UCL, London. Previously I lived Glasgow for four years, studying History of Art and Comparative Literature. I love art and am trying to figure out as much about life as possible. I also love reading, do some writing, drawing and all sorts of other creative things I can get my hands on, but mostly I just love spending time with friends and travelling! Eager to find out everything.

PHILOSOPHY

I now live... probably as most people of my age do - to experience as much as possible, to know, to create. With my own naive dreams and ideas about the world, I am eager to share and find out. I live with the artists, philosophers and writers of the past and am getting to know the ones of the present. Hope to be as lucky as to be one of them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't had much time to participate loads yet, but I absolutely love the idea of this project and have friends who travel with couchsurfing often. As soon as I have my own flat and couch, I will be more than happy to have people to stay over as much as possible, but now, as I still don't have anything like that, I'm hoping to travel some and help in other ways! If anyone is interested, though, I have a sleeping bag and some floor space to stay on!

Interests

Art - visual, music, textile, photography, dancing. Did fencing for some years, wrote for some journals and newspapers. Paint and draw somewhat, a beginner with guitar and philosophy (as a subject), but mostly enjoy a laugh and a good story with a nice cup of coffee!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - The Fall, Amelie, Life is Beautiful, Mona Lisa Smile, almost everything by Woody Allen.
Music - currently I love some acoustic (Ray Lamontagne, Jack Johnson, The Tallest Man on Earth, etc.), the 60s (The Kinks, The Supremes, etc.), Billie Holiday, classical (Mendelssohn, Schubert)...
Books - currently Virginia Woolf, Camus, Kerouac, de Beauvoir (I know these are writers, not books, but I generally am more interested in them and their development). Lithuanian literature.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have traveled with the workaway.info project as well, and so stayed in Norway renovating an ex-psychiatric hospital of massive dimensions (staying in one of the patient's rooms) with a lovely bunch of volunteers. The building is on the way to becoming a Peace Center and left me with some of the best memories!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach - I guess some fencing if there's anyone up for it (HA!); Lithuanian language; anything about History of Art;
Learn - anything, seriously. I'm just a beginner of ideas, I still have much to learn. I anyone can teach me to read music, I'd be eternally grateful.
Share - a good laugh, something I've learned and experienced in exchange with what you did. Simple!
