ABOUT ME

Hi, we are Maria and Ivan, a spanish couple. We have been travelling by bicycle for the last 2 years and already 9 on the road.

We were living in Indonesia, New Zealand, China anda Canada, 4 completely different countries but was in NZ when woke up our desire of travel and living traveling.

We cycled from Australia to China and after one year break in China we started again our bike trip to Spain, back home. Now we are traveling by van from Spain to Norway. We did backpacking but for us cycling is the best way to travel and to meet people and non turistic places on our way. Many times we just stopped in very tiny villages with nothing to see or to do but they were the most wonderful experiences after all. So the places are important but the people to meet is more, they can make the difference even if you are in the ugliest place in the world. They are in our minds more than the beautiful temple or the amazing waterfall or so on.

Our plan is to go around the world trying to reduce our ecological footprint and also trying to be as healthy as we can.
We are improvising along the way and honestly we are not good at planning and our trip is usually quiet open. We follow our feelings and usually it works. We always try to share moments and learn from the people where we go, anyone can teach us something.

We don´t like souvenirs but we do like memories, but things which give us some memories we can´t pay for them. So we are constantly looking for those beautiful moments which are the reason of our travel.

PHILOSOPHY

Do it or do not, but don´t try it. We think this kind of system structure is not sustainable and healthy in many different ways. The world can and have to change but only the people can do it, the education and the culture are the most important tools for start it. We believe we can live all together without fighting each other. Peace bro!

You can ignore reality, but you can not ignore the consequences of ignoring reality ..

Of course we believe in the eyelash-wishes.

We like the people happy with a great smile!! we don´t trust people who never smile :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Sharing experiences, moments, learning always and teaching if we can...with our kind host and surfers. We believe in a wheel of exchange and hospitality and we do think Couchsurfing has essence of it and is important to keep it because we all live in a world than is lossing the importance of sharing, helping...etc.

Interests

Of course traveling, cycling, hiking, climbing.. we like cooking and wild camping. We enjoy the nature and natural enviroments, we love to know about different cultures, pelmaculture, ecology and alternative ways to live.
We love eating good food but sadly our budget not always and everywhere allow us to trade our stomaches as well as sometimes we like.
Maria, is a big fan of photography and arts.
We are animal lovers and we think they are good by nature.
We would like to have one day our little place, maybe with a small farm in a beautiful place somewhere and to have a quiet and simple live, actually this is our dream but first we want to keep going, let free our curiosity and our minds.
