Hi, my name is Ivo. Since I was 17, I lived in the USA, UK, Germany and Romania. Now I'm back in my hometown of Istanbul. I am a post-doctoral researcher and part-time lecturer at Istanbul Bilgi University. I teach in the Media & Communications department. You are always welcome to stop by my office or classes :)

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I joined Couchsurfing in 2008, so I've been a couchsurfer for almost 8 years now! After a long absence, I've decided to reboot my account.

Initially, I was interested in Couchsurfing because of the trust it built between complete strangers. You either host or are hosted by someone that you've only met online prior to the day or arrival. It is actually one giant experiment in trust!

Of course, I was also a poor student back in 2008 and really appreciated a free place to crash :)

兴趣

I like to brew my own beer, so I guess one can call me a beer aficionado :)

I collect vinyl records and strange trinkets that I encounter in 2nd hand/antique shops around the world. I can spend an entire afternoon in a thrift store.

I'm also a quite decent chef and can be easily convinced into cooking dinner for someone :)

Hmm.. this is a difficult one.

I have so many favourite films, books.. And they change all the time!

However, all the films, music and books I like tend to be stimulating.

The most disappointing thing for me is to finish watching a film or listening to some music and not be engaged with it whatsoever.

Not sure about something I've done but one amazing thing that I'm still doing is travelling the world and meeting amazing people.
