Intereses

Some things that are unparelleled pleasures for me are: Crossing the mountains on a night train. Spending a long evening with a friend on an island, sitting by the sea drinking wine. Riding bikes across bridges. Having a morning coffee at the counter in a bar browsing a local newspaper. Taking a long walk in an immense park on sundays. Walking the streets in the early morning or when the night is just about to fall.

Música, películas y libros

My favourite director has been Tarkovski ever since I first discovered him. But others like Fellini, Bergman or Bresson have also touched me a lot (not original at all I know…)

I tend to like films that adopt the perspective of children. Recently enjoyed 'cria cuervos' and 'El espíritu de la colmena' for that reason. I also like slow and image -diving films- for that reason I have recently liked the films of Tsai ming-liang and Ryusuke Hamaguchi, for example

Music: nearly everything of Brahms. Beethoven's lates piano sonatas. Bartok's piano concertos. Schoenberg's early works Débussy, Ligeti. Schubert. Plenty of rock and songwriter music…

Literature -that's hard. Some foreign female poets like Alejandra Pizarnik, Cristina Campo, Inger Christensen are particularly with me these days. I am reading a lot of contemporary (especially German) poetry and am Always curious to find out what is happening in poetry in other countries. Prose: Kafka, Robert Walser, Dante, Dostoievski, Ovid Virginia Woolf Clarice Lispector Annie Dillard... Andersen, Henry James... to name just a few that I have read over and over... I also tend to like Afroamerican writers like Toni Morrison, Ngozi Adichie...
