CURRENT MISSION
finding out what kind of eggs i prefer?
ABOUT ME
I'm currently a first year grad student at Harvard. I went to undergrad at Stanford. I am really open to anything, and look forward to meeting new people, doing new things, checking out new places....
PHILOSOPHY
i guess i am an existentialist in that i think that the world is absurd and we all just have to pick our poisons - our delusions - in living the world. i guess i would be a christian existentialist a la kierkegaard since i believe some sort of belief in a higher power (whether or not it takes the form of a diety) is critical to humanity; and since i believe in a deeply personal relationship with god. also, i don't care what other people do and am incredibly socially liberal. i probably am not a good traditional christian either, but i think that the personal relationship is all that matters and that its not necessary to judge
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm back at Stanford for the next 3 months. I have a sweet single right smack dab in the middle of campus, so I can definitely host. Logistics will be a bit difficult as you need a ID card to swipe into the dorm and I only have one key and one ID card (neither of which I can give you sorry), but we could work it out. You can visit via Caltrain from San Fran or San Jose, and I can definitely give you a tour of campus. I'm back after 8 months abroad and am rediscovering the campus, so that'd be fine with me. I can even help you sneak into some classes you find interesting, if you'd like. We have an amazing Media/Microtext library as well so we can watch all sorts of old movies and stuff on the screen in my room...
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
have had AMAZING CS experiences in europe - prague, vienna, and frankfurt, barcelona, paris, brussels...really really amazing. its a great way to travel, to meet locals or people living in the city, get a sense for the pace of life there, the daily culture, day-to-day way of life...not just ticking off monuments or museums off your list, which are interesting but don't really have any useful or reusable information and have become formulaic and boring to me
Interests
anything at all, since i haven't tried a lot. but so far, i know i love sweet, fruity, and fizzy wines + cocktails, listening to people's stories and quirky experiences, eating local, cultural cuisine, doing spontaneous things, sleeping, writing, chocolate, old movies, carbonara, gelato (il massimo de gelato in milan is THE best), games, teas, chocolate, movies
