About Me

Hi! I'm a San Francisco-raised bookworm currently studying English Literature in London as an exchange university student. I'm an aspiring writer who's documenting my travels through blogging and photography. I've been here since September of 2016, and have travelled all over Europe on a budget. I'm very friendly and I absolutely love meeting people from across the world. I'm also a very considerate, quiet, and tidy guest, as is evident from reviews on my Airbnb profile: airbnb.co.uk/users/show/45444520

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As my departure from England draws near, I'm hoping to squeeze in a few more visits before I leave, and I think the best way to really get to know a country is to get to know its locals. I want to meet individuals and hear their individual stories; that, to my writer's soul, is so powerful and moving. I would really love to meet friendly hosts and share my experiences with them :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: from modern fiction like Cutting for Stone, to children's classics such as Harry Potter and Hans Christen Anderson, to classics such as Charles Dickens, James Austen, and Dostoyevsky

Movies: Dramas, historic films (Imitation Game is my favourite)

Music: All types, but I especially love ballads that I can sing to

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've published a short story in an American literary magazine, which narrates the life of a Cambodian-American girl growing up in California. This story will be turned into curriculum for Californian high school students, which is very exciting! I think it's great that writing can help spread diversity and compassion through education.

Teach, Learn, Share

I adore immersing myself in new cultures and learning about different aspects of others' lives, from food to cultural traditions, to just hearing about their stories and how they grew up. I'm an eager language student, always enthusiastic to learn phrases in other languages, and of course, make new friends!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I LOVE to cook for people, and especially as a vegetarian, I know how to make healthy and hearty dishes full of nutrients and flavour. I'd love to cook you a veg dinner!

I can also teach English (as I'm an English major) and Mandarin Chinese, which I grew up speaking in my household. I can also share my experiences and photographs from living in San Francisco, Southern California, and in Taiwan. I have a unique background from growing up as an Asian-American
