About Me
Hi I'm Ivy. I'm extremely new to couch surfing but I love the concept of meeting new and like minded people who can show me new places and experiences. Currently I am a junior doctor in the UK. I've recently been on a couple of medium length trips around SE Asia and Eastern Europe. Prior to that I did a bit of travelling which was the best time of my life, and I am hoping to get out and do much more soon. My parents originate from Hong Kong so I have picked up some Cantonese language which I hope will be of use
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Several friends have recommended couch surfing to me over the years and it's something I always liked the idea of. I really love seeing and experiencing new things and meeting people along the way to share these moments with. I am hoping it will also allow me to make some good friendships. Having traveled quite a lot over the past few years and having the luxury to take my time to find out about a place by myself and from recommendations made by new found (hostel) friends, I've enjoyed meeting lots of different people and the stories they have to share.
Now that I'm working a lot, my travels will more likely be short trips away
(where I can get them), I'd like to get as much feel of a place as I can, local knowledge and culture, and meet people who can share that with me in the relatively short amount of time I have in each place I visit.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My skydive at Fox Glacier was pretty spectacular. I was disappointed to find that that winter there had been no snowfall at all. The night before my dive, it snowed heavily and about a month's amount of snow fell that night! I was treated to a 360 panorama snow covered mountains view... Unforgettable!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm currently learning to play the guitar which I absolutely love!
I have also vowed to improve on my Cantonese since embarrassing myself in front of a friend I made in Borneo who was unimpressed with my level of language despite having a Cantonese family!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I know some basic Cantonese which I'm happy to share with others
