About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Settling into life in the Rocky Mountains.

ABOUT ME

I like to explore new places and meet new people. My husband and I have recently moved to Denver and are still getting to know Colorado better. I'm American and he is Belgian. We love to travel and speak different languages.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

One of my roommates in college introduced me to couchsurfing, and she hosted many travelers in our shared house. I saw how awesome it was, so I continued hosting on my own after that. Of course I have also surfed on couches and I have met up with couchsurfers to just hang out. I've found its a great way to immerse yourself in a new culture while traveling. I love the CS community and I have had only great experiences!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've made many good friends through CS. It's a revolutionary way to travel and I love the idea. It's been a few years since I participated, but now that we are in a big city it seems like a good time to start up again!

Interests

I'm passionate about the sciences and am involved in scientific community outreach. I like music, play guitar and write my own songs. Like to bike, play volleyball, tennis, and do yoga.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm into folky stuff, indie and classic rock, electronic music, techno, or anything that is fun to dance to. .

Some bands I listen to; Air, Led Zeppelin, Thievery Corporation, Pink Floyd, Iron & Wine, Beirut, Beck, Blonde Redhead, Caribou, The Cranberries, the Decemberists, The Shins, Tori Amos, Sufjan Stevens, Grizzly Bear, Radiohead, Fleet Foxes

I read a lot, many genres.

Same with films, but I do love thrillers and horror flicks.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived abroad in Europe for 5 years.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to meet people from all over the world, and from many different backgrounds. Hearing peoples' stories is a great way to attain wisdom of your own. I always think it's fun to practice the languages I know, talk about those I don't know, and discuss linguistic differences.

Countries I’ve Visited
