About Me

A 24 year old Englishman travelling the world, making friends, spreading kindness, helping people, and destroying stereotypes!

I love the outdoors, and walk everywhere when realistic, especially trying to take long walks in national parks. The similarities and differences between cultures within individual regions and across the world, as well as exploring to understand the way people interact with each other and 'foreigners', fascinates me.

I enjoy great coffee and craft beer, sunsets and sunrises, stars and streetlights.

“Instead of wondering when your next vacation is, maybe you should set up a life you don’t need to escape.” – Seth Godin

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is an amazing tool to make new friends and find out about the city in which they live, grew up in or moved to, especially in Canada in winter when all the hostels close (who knew!!).

Every region has its tourist spots but to truly explore that city or town requires finding the little nooks, crannies, and roads less travelled to properly get a feel for it. The best way of doing so has to be Couchsurfing and listening to the stories, and recommendations from hosts and travellers.

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in the arts is varied to say the least, I get immersed in books, go to live concerts, and relate to movies a little too much!

I run a music venue in my home town, and have been involved in the music industry there since my teens, hosting and participating in nights from punk to jazz. These days I enjoy more relaxed acoustic indie music than any other genre, however, there will also be a place in my heart for ska punk!

Getting stuck into a good book is something that I wish I could do more often but I always travel with a few, and when I am in the mood end up reading books from start to finish, in spite of train timetables!
