About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travelling time is over now. Time to find a job ans resettle before new adventures.

ABOUT ME

Brian is no common name for a french: even french people don't think I am french at firstsight.
It is hard to properly describe myself in few sentences. Better to meet and have a cup of tea or a glass of wine together! But I will try:

I am curious about so many things. I can be very talkative about anything: cooking, history, culture, economy, science, languages, but most of the time stupid stuffs. I like to try new things, especially food, languages and sports.

I recently quitted my job and I went travelling around Asia during a year. Since I was in remote area like tiny islands, I did more real surfing than actual couchsurfing.
My blog: vaguevagabonde.fr

PHILOSOPHY

Like most of people in CS, I am driven by the will of curiosity for knowledge. We can learn something new everyday, even more by trying new things/activities/food/books, meeting new faces and going to new places. Sometimes you have to leave a bit your comfort zone. That's what I did by quiting my job and going travelling around a year.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By offering my smile and my energy to CS people. And before my trip, by offering one to two places on my couch when I could. I hosted regularly people during two years in Toulouse, France. Then I went travelling a year in

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I heard by friends about CS and I met some couchsurfers from others friends in Toulouse. Those experiences made me wanting to host couchsurfers. That's what I did when I could. Everything went well and I made new friends from it.
Then time to travel came and I went travelling for a year around Asia (mostly the east pacific coast). I got host by very nice people: young koreans working in Seoul, a japanese family in the centre of Tokyo, a family in China,..
In Angers, France, I have been part of the CS weekly meetings organizers and I am looking to help wherever I settle
Moreover, once I will be set up again, I will try to host people on a monthly basis.

Interests

Everything and anything. Chatting and drinking wine? For sure ;). I love surfing ( not only on a couch, on waves too or on the snow ). I am a sea lover: I could spend so much time looking at it and swimming like a kid surrounded by the waves. I love outdoor activities since I am a kid: hiking, rock climbing. I got the chance to pratice paragliding, alpinism and free diving. I am looking forward to do these activities again.
Of course, as CS member I love as well meet people and exchange with them. I wish I could manage a way to earn money & having enough time to travel. When I am alone, I like to read a lot and prefer books and chosen movies to TV.

I taught french to some friends when I was in Erasmus in Poland, it will be a pleasure to teach few things about french or french culture.
