About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Entering the playground.

ABOUT ME

Just deleted a very old, unused, and slightly embarrassing profile text here. I quite liked noticing the elements that I seemed to have invested in over time though. For me, as for many, it can really serve to get a clear mirror from the past that shows a story of how some things have refined and evolved as opposed to what I often do: floating in the angle of the moment where things are just a large soup of possible projects to improve. Much of the time overwhelmingly so. I hope to read that in a couple of years and have a different relationship to my soup as well.

I am someone who loves to play. I am a philosophical creature. I like to rest at the depth of things, be they entertaing or unpleasant. "Depth" intersects quite a lot with where reality checking happens, where integration happens, and where flexibility joins in its best suit. I have been driven by strong feelings of where I need to go all my life. Basically, meaningful movement, whether it is dancing, travelling, or working on ideas, is key for me. I indulge in getting other people's perspectives, and if you meet me I am likely to ask you at some point, if I may continue to ask questions.

Right. Down to business, for those who want to deep dive with me: "Entering the playground" for me is about stepping in to the system of human cultures as something other than someone obscure. I am on a track of taking up space as a more visible, accoutable, identifiable entity. I have always made a lot of noise, but I have never dared to admit to a shape. I used to have quite an array of justifications as to why I didn't want to support our current cultural structures, and really tried hard to be slippery to them. Stepping in is about bringing that critical perspective and giving it some dignity. I still don't have good words for why I have been so scared of and fascinated by society, but I know that when the fear drops I find our existence incredibly funny. Comedy, to me, has one of the highest values in life, and one of the most edible forms of criticism and integrational qualities combined. Its where I want to stay. I'm figuring out ways to get paid to stay on this track. Much of it I suspect will involve communication technology and intimate involvement with other people's lives, but I have a request to get help with figuring this out. In play. Brainstorming, crazy partying, mountain climbing, hitch hiking, doing projects, references to people or writings... I am quite keen. The last thing that you should probably know is that I'm very physical as well. I don't like sitting. It conflicts sometimes with my love for conversation since many of those tend to happen in sitting positions, but I am sure there is a balance somewhere. I love being outside, and I can walk for a long time, so talking or other more physically demanding sports can happen there.

PHILOSOPHY

when i get there I'll find out how to deal with it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By genuinely and intimately engage with my surroundings, by sharing physical space or other space. I think that learning to share and co create is massive for us.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch surf all the time, although not always through this community. I have so good friends where I can come and go, people who I can share my view of life with. People who can be themselves, strong or weak or different from me, we can share anyway. The thing I love about couch surfing is that it keeps you on the ground. You meet people that aren't from the same group, the same city or the same country. When you have to get out of your own culture is when you'll find the core of it. So I think it develops people. I think you grow up from meeting the world as it is. It's what I feel that I do.
