About Me

Grew up in Michigan. Lived in southern California for high school. Went back to Michigan for university. Since graduating in 2014, I've taken various temporary gigs. I've worked as a camp cook, an educator at nature centers, a wildlife research technician, a barista, among other things. I am currently in graduate school for biology at the University of Alabama. I never learned to do a cartwheel, but it's never too late to learn...

Music, Movies, and Books

Music -- right now I'm digging Kendrick Lamar, Twenty One Pilots, La Dispute, Passenger...

Movies -- In Bruges is the only movie I've seen 3+ times

Books -- I adore John Steinbeck.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One summer in college, I hiked 120 miles through northern Michigan to WWOOF for several weeks on a small llama farm owned and operated by bona fide hippies. I had blisters on 7/10 toes, slept in the rain for 3 nights, and while living on the farm built an outdoor shower, shoveled llama poop, and harvested beans.

What I Can Share with Hosts

The story of the time I hitch-hiked with lumberjacks
Interesting opinions on the merits of creamy vs. chunky peanut butter
My love of birds and nature
Chocolate chip cookies (as long as you have a functional oven and the necessary ingredients)
Songs (warning: I sing in the shower)
Earplugs (I recently bought an extra-big box)

Countries I’ve Visited
