at the same time i do my very folkloristic reaserch in an amazing region of Ukrainian Carpathians.
i work as en educator with refugee children, especially Chechenyan.
in my free time i like to go to my parnets house near the forest and river.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
i used to travel in a way similar to couchsurfing but i've never used the side. for me knowing the people is the most important thing during visiting country and cs makes it easier. sometimes i cannot go anywhere and then the world can come to me in the people. so feel warmly welcome :) but firsty include in your request the word "knedle"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
i was sitting in a very dark and very cold small house in Ukrainian mountains. there were i, my friend and and an older man. the house belonged to him - a shepherd. he told us lots of stories. firstly he didn't propose us to eat his soup because - as I could see - he needed it to have any food for next day. but later he put vodka on a table, cut some bread and told to us 'thank you' so many times. 'you are my brother and sister' he told. and he sang a very long christmas carol for us, and when he finished, the only one candle in the room went off. and it was a few minutes before he found a new one, put it on a place and turn the light on. and then took a flute and played for us. and said 'thank you' once again, and once again.
so now i think the most amazing things in life aren't the things we do, but this in which we can participate. this time i didn't do completely nothing. but the moment was absolutely important for me, for my friend and for the shepherd, we all knew it. that was almost nothing, but that was amazing.
