About Me
Hello!
My name is Israel. I live in San Francisco (Bernal Heights neighborhood) where I work in the vibrant food/beverage scene. I have the opportunity to host travel guests from time to time, so if you are in my city, please send a request and a bit about yourself.
I was born in California and have lived in San Francisco for almost twenty-five years. I have witnessed many transformations over the decades which has allowed me to foster good friendships with locals and fellow couch surfers.
I enjoy showing others what excites me about my city, and I am NOT talking about landmarks or bridges (although pretty to look at). I'd prefer a more mindful experience to the true community fabric that exists here. We need to continue having a dialogue about how we travel as global citizens on this planet. Traveling causes huge environmental impacts on our communities. Let us look out for each other and teach each other a better quality of life.
I am also a very playful person who enjoys a good laugh over wine and food. I am openly gay and have somewhat good connections to the city nightlife.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I became a member of Couchsurfing after a very spiritual experience traveling through Turkey. I met some of the kindest people with such limited resources and yet so much was exchanged. We can share so much with one another if we open ourselves up not to just take away from our travels but more importantly what is it that we leave behind.
I believe that I can use this platform to make meaningful contributions to society. We need that collectively RIGHT NOW more than ever.
