About Me

Meet me in outerspace, or at my place!

If you a fellow American moving to Portland, or on a road trip down the the west coast, sleep in your car or go camping and don't waste my time. ALOT of people send me requests, roughly 10 a day, and if you don't read at least this far into my profile you're going to get denied.

One day I was on a break from my hospitality job, I bought some thai take-away and sat on a busy intersection for 30 minutes. While I was coolin' down, eating my grub on the busy streets of Chicago, I noticed that everyone was dressed alike, staring at their iphone, or drinking Starbucks ignoring anyone's presence that passed by. I realized I did not want to join this force of brainwashed worker drones so I gave away my shit and decided to move to New Zealand. Since leaving NZ i have missioned to Southern Africa, and most recently Cuba.

I do not know what exactly my career path will be, who I will fall in love with, or where I will be next New Year's Eve, but I know that this is the time in my life dedicated to evolving into a more mindful, creative, and enlightened person.

Can't be bothered.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

CS is a totally genuine way to meet like minded travelers. I want to meet people that inspire and motivate other humans. People who are open, honest, and loving are welcome in my home. I don't want to be taken advantage of for a free place to stay. I live with an awesome male roommate. We would prefer a few references if I am going to invite you inside. I am mostly seeking international guests, but I am not opposed to hosting fellow Americans. Seeking characters, and weirdos. I like to cook with my hosts/guests and smoke weed if you're into that kind of thing. All I require is a positive attitude and honesty.

I have surfed with a lot of outstanding New Zealanders, from party animals to Santa Claus.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am pretty ADD when it comes to reading but I do hella research online about varied topics in culture, nature, and science, which I like to bring up for my own long term memory.

Music: Usually the faster the better. Modest Mouse, Mastodon, Fall of Troy (RIP), RHCP, Incubus, Cancer Bats, The Sword, Minus the bear, Circa Survive, Trash Talk, Royal Thunder, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Wavves, Led Zeppelin, Most 80's and 90's Rock. I also have a soft spot in my heart for hip hop old and new; Nas, Notorious BIG, Yelawolf, Mac Miller, Andre 3000, Deltron 3030. Others that make the list..Rebelution, David Bowie, Bassnectar, Ellie Goulding, and definitely Charkosky. I love going to see live music, it is never a waste of time or money in my opinion.

Movies:Crime, Horror, Comedy
My favorite movie of all time is Nightmare before Christmas. But the remake of Evil Dead was fucking brilliant.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I first got to New Zealand, I was at a bar in Wellington and a man came up to me with about $45 US in his hands and asked if I had dropped my money. I was the only American he had met this night so he assumed it must be mine. In any other place I believe that money would be pocketed in a second. Even though it was not my lost money, I appreciated the gesture enough for this entry. NZ rules.

Teach, Learn, Share

Couchsurfing is probably the most genuine attempt to get humans to get back to our hospitable roots and actually show and share compassion with strangers. Sincerely, I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of this community space.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a very positive presence. I cook good food and give wise advice. I am very honest and smiley and am told I smell like almonds.
