About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see the world one step at a time

ABOUT ME

No longer a student, I live and work in Leeds and am currently planning a big adventure across Russia and South East Asia.

PHILOSOPHY

If you can't chuckle, what can you do?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Can't offer a place to stay right now as just about to move house.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a fair few couchsurfers and surfed a couple of times with friends and just by myself. I've had an incredible time surfing and hosting, it's really motivated me to do more and travel more.

Interests

Tea, baking, thinking about food, learning to cook, newspapers, films, so much television, travel.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'll try and keep this fairly short. Just to give an idea, I like the Coen brothers films ( Fargo and O Brother Where Art Thou especially),Little Miss Sunshine, Oldboy, Napoleon Dynamite, Some Like It Hot, Pulp Fiction, Trainspotting, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest,The Breakfast Club, American Beauty, Spirited Away and a million other studio ghibli films. This could turn into a very long list so I'll stop.

A mix of cheesy pop, indie rock, ska, punk, soul. Some current favourites are the XX, Radiohead, Bloc Party, Laura Marling, Ghostpoet, Queens of the Stone Age, the Rolling Stones, Joan Armatrading,The Cribs, Nina Simone.

Books are the best. The Bell Jar, HitchHikers Guide to the Galaxy, Life of Pi, Catch 22, The Book Thief, and Jane Eyre have a special place in my heart but I could list heaps more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hitchhiked to Morocco. One night we were sleeping on a hotel roof in Morocco and we looked up and saw the stars and the Minaret all lit up and the smoke from the market stalls and it felt amazing.

I've been travelling here and there around the US. I saw the Grand Canyon covered in snow, beautiful beaches in California, and got the train through the rocky mountains. More amazing things to come!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd like to learn a lot. Gardening, brewing beer and cider, and making tasty things. I'm slowly learning to crochet and knit, it's taking me forever though. Once I've stopped tangling myself up in wool and losing stitches left right and centre I'd be happy to try and teach you.
