ABOUT ME

I have three celebrity crushes: Winston Marshall, Geoff Manthorn, and Josh Scobee.

If anybody could tell me what that means about me, I'd appreciate it.

PHILOSOPHY

I know that I am at a point in my life where I can really choose what I want to do, where I want to be, and how I live. I want to design, and explore, and learn everything that I can though experience. I want to be in a place with a lot of energy and culture, where I can have an adventure every day. I want to live my life with an open mind and the support of those closest to me. And I want to be able to be a little silly while doing it.

I am really excited to be on this site. I have traveled a lot, and am very close with many people that I've met while having adventures all over the globe. With CouchSurfers, I've found a way to continue those experiences while finishing school and enjoying my life in DC.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I have a very embarassing Netflix Queue, but I will say that I hate scary movies.

I end up reading a lot of design books that I find at bookstores. It doesn't seem to get old, even after I've spent hours working on a project of my own. Actually, it may be counter-intuitive because then I hold my work up to the standard of published design works and feel inadequate.

Music is a good subject! I love lots of music genres, and am always up for a live show. Some favorites are Mumford and Sons, Bon Iver, Florence + The Machine, Robyn, The xx, Santigold, Radiohead, The Gossip, and Laura Marling. Lots of Brits I guess.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

When I was 17, I went on a Spain/Italy/Israel trip during the summertime with a bunch of other high-schoolers. One night, about a month into the trip, our bus broke down while driving through the Israeli desert. We were about 4 weeks into the trip, and had seen and learned a lot while becoming close as a group. Another girl from the trip and I walked a little ways away from the others, and sat down on one of the hundreds of gravelly dunes that made up the landscape. We shared a pair of headphones and an iPod, and watched the sun set over our friends, the broken bus, and the mountains in the distance. It was one of the most beautiful, calming, and full experiences I've ever had.

Watching my friend Bri get carried off the stage at a Dublin techno club for climbing up and requesting Beyonce was pretty amazing too.
