About Me

Hello there!

My name is Izzy, and I, plus my darling husband Eilir (pronounced Ay-live), are more than happy to meet up and show fellow couch-surfers around our lovely little County of Rutland!

Currently I work Mon-Friday as a Manager in a local charity shop, I absolutely love my work!! Not only do I get a tons of bargains but I work along side an amazing group of volunteers.

During the weekends I enjoy going to the pub to play a selection of board and party games, with a new found group of friends. If you like gaming, or want to give it a try you are welcome to come along!

Further to this I enjoy making the most of our beautiful countryside and enjoy walking! So if you fancy a hike, I can take you to some great spots.

Cooking and eating is a huge passion of mine!! I love cooking meals for others, and eating together. Some things I have recently tried making from scratch is Sushi, Katsu Curry, Thai green curry, posh canapes, Gumbo, Peach cobbler, Homemade Iced Tea, Stuffed rice balls...plus all your typical British Dishes! I also love, love, love learning new recipes! So a cooking session is always a big yes in my household! (Although I will get some grumbling about washing dishes and mess from Eilir!!)

Previously I lived in London for three years, whilst doing an Education degree and working part-time as a nanny. Here I hosted a couple of times and ran some meet up sessions in Greenwich. Prior to my studies I worked within the UK and a variety of countries supporting children and young adults. I have often volunteered and scouting was a big part of this.

Overall I am a laid back person who enjoys meeting new people. I am natural introvert.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Seven years ago I was backpacking and I ran out of money, so I decided to give Couchsurfing a go. I was very, very nervous...until I met my wonderful hosts!!

Since then I have used the site numerous times to couch surf, but mostly to meet up with many interesting and amazing people.

Currently I live in a very quiet little County and hope to meet up with visitors and show them around.
