About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Securing the Home Base and traveling for music, friends, and festivity
ABOUT ME
I've made it to my 30s but am still learning as I go. I love to travel. I spend most of my time outdoors- farming, hiking, floating on a river, and camping. I grew up in a rural community and moved back after school to start a career. I enjoy the excitement and fast pace of cities, but feel that I am more productive here in the country. I love cooking and gardening, and am always open to a good conversation.
PHILOSOPHY
Like most Americans my philosophy is a rag-tag combination of other cultures. First off would probably be the Confucius idea that family comes first, community second, and then the republic. I live to honor my ancestors and leave the world a better place for my descendents.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have found that the only way to truly visit an area is to meet the people that call it home. I also learned early on that you can get a lot of help from CSers other than just a place to crash- directions/attractions/what not to do/etc. There really is an amazing knowledge base in this community, I have yet to meet a surfer that I did not learn something from.
Interests
I have an innate love for sports, animals, and wild places. I work on vehicles, brew my own beer, and have started making biodiesel. I am fairly interested in politics and current events based on my interest to protect the environment, open spaces, and individual rights. I always keep an eye/ear out for live music.

Music, Movies, and Books
I grew up on Peter, Paul, and Mary (mom) and CCR (dad). I traveled to follow Phish around and am always down for some reggae. I've learned to really enjoy bluegrass and acoustic music as well.
I'll read anything- if it's fiction its probably classic.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm an environmental engineer by trade and have a working knowledge of most civil engineering practices. I wish I was more fluent in Spanish, and can always learn some good recipes.
