CURRENT SITUATION

Currently only hosting the desperate, stranded, or homeless. Please contact me only if you are really one of those things. Last-minute requests fine. Queer(friendly) home! I have a *studio* apartment: there is a single room, no doors (i.e. no privacy). I've been in a fight for two years with my landlord regarding some problems in the apartment (no reliable internet or heating, for example), which is why I haven't hosted much these past years. Hoping that one day, soon, I can offer a better setup, but the housing crisis in Berlin is not helping...

All that said, I don't want anyone to be stranded; I know sometimes travel plans become difficult. Reach out if you're in a tough spot and I will try to accommodate you. Please know that (1) it's a studio, meaning neither of us will have any privacy (though there is, of course, a private bathroom), and (2) please consider this a free place to crash or leave bags while you explore Berlin -- I unfortunately can't hang out or show you around Berlin at the moment because I'm dealing with a lot of personal and family shit.

ABOUT ME

city girl with a hint of country. most at home on the dancefloor or the library. beats and books, friends and lovers, urban landscapes and jungle topographies -- these are the things that make me happy.

i grew up in nyc, studied in the woods of new hampshire , then moved to berlin, where i've been living ever since. there was also a brief stint in rural virginia along the way -- for farm life and an MFA in creative writing. now i'm back in berlin getting a phd in american studies (specifically, on the state's use of violence to maintain racial hierarchy).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

my little sis converted me to the cause. the first time i couchsurfed with her, a very trusting, generous soul gave us the key to his paris apartment and the moped parked below, then went off to work and said he'd see me in a few hours. this is how i want the world to be: all of us sharing the keys!

兴趣

i spend a lot of time writing. and a lot of time reading. and a lot of time going to the gym. that's a lot of alone time. i like to make up for it at night with music, dancing and sweat-soaked conversations.
