About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To leave home travelling East and come back, still travelling East.

ABOUT ME

I've spent my whole life trying to figure myself out, and I think I'll spend the rest of it in the same pursuit. I'm usually very introspective, but that doesn't stop me from having a certain degree of adventurousness and extroversion. I generally consider myself fairly level-headed, and while I'm not very excitable, I am intensely curious about pretty much everything. I'm okay with small-talk, but I prefer the fulfillment I get from deeper discussions and debates. I tend to have a fairly relaxed and flexible approach to life. Getting along with people and being accommodating is very important to me.

PHILOSOPHY

Wisdom lies in knowing how little you actually know. Every question answered opens the door to many new questions.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't done any couchsurfing through CS yet, but I did a homestay as part of a language program in Japan when I was in high school. I lived in a fairly traditional Japanese household. It was eye-opening to experience what seemed like a very different culture on the outside and realize how similar things really were in my own home. I've also couchsurfed in Australia with some friends I had known for a while. It was interesting being in a country where we were 'separated' by a common language and I had fun learning to drive on the other side of the road. Don't forget your drop-bear repellent.

Interests

I get a little overwhelmed with the number of things there are to learn in the world. Lately, I've been trying to learn more about geopolitics, but science has been a lifetime interest of mine, and I'd like to learn more languages. I used to study film and enjoy designing games. I love spicy and tangy food, rich beer, earthy coffee, mellow scotch, and bright tea. When exploring, I like to get lost and see the hidden side of whatever city I'm in.
