ABOUT ME

I grew up in cold Wisconsin, where the cheese is plentiful, and the beer flows like wine. I am a lover of nature and an environmentalist. I eat mostly simple vegetarian food, but I try whatever comes to me in a good way.

Do my best/ obey my inner master/ the Golden Rule/ be honest with myself and others/ courtesy, respect, self-control, perseverence, being for the benefit of all beings of the Living Earth/ bring greater balance to the profound balance that supports Life

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am usually a free-floating individual, and an explorer. I encourage wanderlust. I like make friends as I travel, and find places to stay. I try to be of service, and folks tend to enjoy having me around.
I hosted a lot of people in Tainan, in Taiwan. I was back in the US for 5 years, and didn't have any guests then. Now I am back in Taiwan, in Taitung, and you are welcome to contact me if you want to couchsurf at my place.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have generally had good experiences meeting people through Couchsurfing. It is a great network for human cooperation.

I watched an amazing man surf a big wave in St. Francis Bay, SA, while a giant whale rode beside him in the water, the head and tail on either side of him, about 15 meters behind...I was sitting on the shore playing guitar, trying to make up a surf song...

I like to be with people and myself when we are kind and respectful, meditative, happy, curious, and helpful. Can we listen to our inner voice? I don't really believe in crazy or normal, but I think there is some basic reasonable grounds for understanding, and I want to be around people who can start there. We can start from the things we agree upon. Basically, I try to be honest and real; I like it if you will too.

I have an apartment in Taitung. I have a couch that guests can sleep on and a mattress/sleeping pad for the floor.
There is really only enough space for one guest, but if you are ok sleeping on the kitchen floor, maybe a second guest could stay as well.
I can give you a small cup of good coffee in the morning, and I'll point you in the right direction.
