About Me

Hi, I’m Javanshir – originally from Azerbaijan, currently working in tourism and always curious about the world around me.

I studied in Bologna, Italy (Master’s in International Cooperation on Intercultural Heritage), and since then I’ve worked and lived across a few different countries — technically, I’ve been calling three places home at once. Sounds chaotic, but it fits the lifestyle of someone who truly loves travel :)

I consider myself respectful, open-minded, and very easy to be around. I’m traveling solo to Puglia this July (8–13), looking for calm days near the sea and a little local culture in places like Bari, Monopoli, or Polignano. I’m not into shopping or parties — this trip is more about slowing down and reconnecting.

The most important thing for me when I visit somewhere new is the people and the stories behind each place. That’s why I love Couchsurfing — it’s not just about where you sleep, but about the connections you build.

I can cook something for you (or help in the kitchen), have good conversations, or simply give you space. I’m fully self-sufficient and always clean and respectful.

Feel free to ask anything. And thank you for reading this!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’ve been lucky to have friends who hosted me while traveling, but I’m also curious about meeting new people in countries where I don’t yet know anyone. Couchsurfing helps me discover places through locals and hopefully build genuine friendships along the way.

Interests

I love exploring how culture is expressed in daily life — food, music, language, and small routines. I’m fascinated by cities, identity, architecture, and how people find meaning in where they live.
I also enjoy writing, photography, walking without a destination, and listening more than speaking.

Music, Movies, and Books

My playlist is full of surprises and its always a nice topic for discussion with people I meet. Possible I already have a favorite song/singer from your country :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 18, I traveled alone to the United States for a Work & Travel program. It was my first time so far from home, and I didn’t know the language well. But I worked, earned enough to support myself, and used every chance to travel around the country. That summer taught me independence, opened my mind, and made me realize how big and different the world can be — and how small it can feel once you connect with people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a few words in Azerbaijani, or how to make a simple traditional dish. I’m happy to help with English practice too.
I’d love to learn more about Italian dialects, regional cooking, or anything local — even how you drink your coffee.
I can share stories, playlists, and life perspectives — or simply some quiet company if that’s what you prefer.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m happy to cook, help around the house, clean up, run errands — whatever makes you feel appreciated as a host. I bring good energy, curiosity, and respect for your space.
