About Me
ABOUT ME
I am who I am, because of who we all are. I’m also a typical August-born Leo. 🦁️🌻 Plus, a recent dream chaser in the field of language education, transitioning after years of working in the social services agencies and in healthcare.
Currently enrolled in the one-year program in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages at Teachers College, Columbia University.
PHILOSOPHY
My personal philosophy happens to be the philosophy of my profession (Registered Nurse) - caring and sharing.
----
The above part was completed when I first joined CS... 10 years later, little has changed.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
CS fosters human connections, meaningful human connections, and to me that’s precious.
People are people and CS is a cool platform to allow for people to present themselves to the universe... good or bad, and anything across the spectrum.
I always try to utilize it with an intention and meaning, like how I am with doing many other things in life.
My very first CS experience was back in 2008 when I was exploring ways to truly see and feel Alaska, followed by my first CSing experience in Anchorage, Alaska. Hosted and met a few cool CS souls since then.
In the summer of 2018 when I returned to my hometown after 10+years, I hosted a local CS gathering where 5 lovely CS members joined the event. We had a great time and I’m looking forward to see them again.
Interests
I have a long list of interests... essentially, I’m interested in keeping an open, clear, and curious mind, and have my actions to reflect the same...
- animal welfare
- hiking
- swimming
- nature
- learning languages
- chinese calligraphy
- social entrepreneurship
- drum circles
- home improvement
- health and wellness
Music, Movies, and Books
All good stuff~ I have a lot to say, but this is what comes to mind for short.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Making the decision to visit Alaska in January.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach, Learn, Share... these are all action-based good stuff, that usually requires the involvement of at least another being... therefore, let us be; let us practice interbeing...✌️
What I Can Share with Hosts
Exchanging life stories... I would love to take my host to their favorite local food spot and share meals. I’m happy to bring souvenirs from NYC... Bottom line, CS experience is totally priceless, and my host/guest deserves my full respect~
