I speak to children (professionally) teaching life skills and values through the game of disc golf at youth organizations like the YMCA and Boys & Girls Clubs.

PHILOSOPHY

Be Great, You Are Great! My parents empowered my as a child and it showed up as cocky when I was young. After a family tragedy, years of recovery, and the revelation that nothing is guaranteed, I am pursuing my dream.

Go after yours. I believe you can. I know you can. Find inspiration - it's everywhere!

ABOUT ME

I am a (former) portrait photographer so I really enjoy people. My best friend has travelled to Europe many times and I am so jealous of him. I would love to take my wife on a trip to see more of the world than just the Northwest of the US.

I play disc golf a lot. Let me rephrase that, I am a disc golf junky! It is like crack for me. The more I play, the more I need it. I am planning a few trips this year - Arizona, Washington, California, and possibly Michigan for Worlds! My first trip is Scottsdale, Arizona in the beginning of March, so that is where I am seeking a couch first.

I found this site on a disc golf forum and it sounds like a great way to help others out while traveling and meet some new people on the road.

I can't wait to see more of the world and play some great disc golf courses!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING & COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

(NEW - June 2019) CS has allowed me to travel the US, soon to be internationally, on a dime - thank you to everyone who makes this platform a community.

I am here to show kindness and love to the humans life brings into my world. I am here to be present in the suffering of others without adding to their suffering. I am here to show others how to love with my energy, words, and actions.

(OLD) The opportunity to help is a gift, especially when your help fits within your passion. I have hosted a number of non formal couchsurfers and I have crashed on many a couch, but only a few here, mostly centered around disc golf - one of my passions.

Surfed within CS in Scottsdale in 2010 and had a wonderful experience, and the 2016 edition is looking like a ton of fun again. Surfed in '10 again, Rock Hill, SC for the Unites States Open of Disc Golf hosted by the largest manufacturer in the game, Innova Discs.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just found out about cs2 so I have not had a chance to do anything yet. I plan on taking cs2 to the disc golf world as most disc golfers don't make any money playing, it is just for fun. That doesn't stop us from having a couch available and needing a couch here and there.

In college I slept on many a couch, sometimes voluntarily, sometimes not.

Followed my passion with absolutely no guarantee. Drove to Portland from Boise without a place place to stay, without cash for a room, based on meeting hemp farmers who need help growing larger crops.

The first time I saw the Redwoods just south of the Oregon border on the coast I was in awe. If you have not been to see the Redwoods, you should definitely go. Some of the trees are wider than a normal living room.

(OLD) Let's see, what do I know that other people would find interesting or useful...

Well, I know a lot about selling. I have been told that I can sell ice to eskimos.

There are a few things that will help you get people to do what you want them to, BUT, be careful. These techniques may be used in a negative or harmful manner, so, please don't manipulate people.

The first technique is to ask questions. For example, "How do you feel about __________?" or "How do you feel about that?" after giving information or discussing something. Use the word feel, not think. Human beings are emotional people, they will act on emotion faster and more often than on thought instinctively. Questions will open up what the prospect is interested in. ALWAYS answer a question with information and then ask another question to gauge where the prospect is in the buying process. For example:
Prospect: "How much is a portrait like that one?"
Salesman: "Well, it depends on a few things, but most people in your situation invest between $xxxx and $xxxx, does that fit within your budget?"
