About Me

CURRENT MISSION

2014 is my year of "getting amongst it" and having a go at some awesome new things!

ABOUT ME

Hey I'm J! I play drums and guitar, love flying and sailing and having a beer, seeing the sites, watching a band at the pub, meeting great people from all walks of life and having a good time of it! Oh and offering up a couch with an amazing view of Sydney Harbour!

I've done a fair bit of the world compared to most; Contikis, G adventures, trekking (Everest Base Camp) and some stuff with work and on my own.

PHILOSOPHY

Good things come to those who get off their butts and go out and earn it.

Travel Karma exists!!

and give everything a go.. get out of your comfort zone, you'd be surprised how big your comfort zone can get!! Don't die wondering.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

This site gives me the opportunity to give a little back to us travelling folk, whether it is your first trip away or your 50th, the kindness of strangers has played a big part in all of my adventures in one way or another. As a host, I can continue to meet you amazing worldly people and show you my amazing city in my little piece of oz as other people have done for me in their home towns over the past 10 years :) So get amongst it.. There is plenty to see out there! if you'd like to know more just ask.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Ahh.. my couch experiences.. well:

some were planned, some were not,
some I slept, some I did not,
some I was cold, and some I was hot
some were a floor, and one was a cot (it was random)
some had a roof, and some had the stars,
one was a pool floaty, and a few have been bars,
to me a couch is somewhere comfy you fall,
after a big day of seeing the sites of it all.

Interests

Music, drums, teaching myself acoustic.. Flying, sailing, sports (rugby league, football, cricket... curling.. just about anything competitive..lol, pretty sure I even watched the lawn bowls world cup once because I couldn't find the remote)

Teach, Learn, Share

Hmm. first thing that came to mind was how to poach an egg in the microwave. (great cheap meal for lunch at work or on the move) on toast.
Put a splash of water in a coffee cup, crack the egg in the cup, cover with a Tupperware lid or another cup,
put in your microwave for around 40 seconds.. start checking at 35 secs.. don't let it explode, if its big fluffy and white, its ready. Drain the cup of water, and pour your egg onto your toast. Once you know your microwave it is quick and easy!! Enjoy.

I'll update with other random stuff as I think of it!
