About Me

CURRENT MISSION

LEARN!

ABOUT ME

I am a beginning travel who is eager to discover more places and meet more people. I love learning about other cultures and languages and discovering how they interact to create a community's identity. thats the anthropology side of me speaking. I am also SUPER interested in biological anthropology, or human evolution and primate behavior. I am really considering studying chimps as a career one day. On a less serious note, I love bunny rabbits (I have two at home), chocolate, cool jewelry, sleeping in, watching foreign and indie movies, the Twilight Zone, and Harry Potter (although I did NOT like the last book)

PHILOSOPHY

live your life as you want it to be, without the influence of others

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently studying abroad in Bordeaux and would love to meet people when I get time to travel to other cities and countries during my stay here. I would love to host people when I get back home to California!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

#1-Marseille, France - went to this beautiful cliff overlooking the ocean with our amazing hosts and had an unforgettable experience, trying new things that will remain unspoken here ;)
#2 Lyon, France - spent the weekend with 2 university girls my age who kindly introduced my friend and I to their friends and we had a great time exploring Lyon by foot.
#3 Milan and Venice, Italy - stayed with two great Italian hosts who both showed us the nice parts of Milan and made the big city seem very small and cozy!
#4 Bristol, England - stayed in a squat with some really cool and down to earth people
#5 Amsterdam, Netherlands - hung out with some chill students at their place, had a great dinner together and talked about life :)
#6 Geneva, Switzerland - spent the night with a really sweet student who was very patient with me when I kept forgetting to take off my shoes at the door! haha
#7...not yet!

Interests

aside from what I mentioned in "all about you" - cleaning (but only when I'm inspired to do so), guys with long hair, learning French, taking naps on grass, Persian food, and my ultimate favorite - playing devil's advocate ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

favorite movie is GATTACA. I don't have a favorite song, but it, along with my top ten favorite songs, would all be by Queen. I haven't found a favorite book yet but I will keep reading until I do!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

worked as intern at the San Diego Zoo and became friends with bonobos, which are closely related to chimpanzees. my amazing memory, one that I will never forget, is the day that the leader of the bonobo troop (a female) came up to the window and greeted me. it's an amazing feeling to be acknowledged by non-human beings.

Teach, Learn, Share

look up bonobos. they are awesome. if you know what they already are, then you must have had some experience with them that you need to share with me asap!
