About Me

I have the heart of a lion and a lifetime ban from the Henry Doorly Zoo. Ba dum tsssch.

CURRENT MISSION

Resoaking up a place where I once had roots while enjoying being near family and old friends.

PHILOSOPHY

Try everything. Be good to people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted and surfed intermittently since 2013. CS also introduced me to my local travel club/various events when I was living in Omaha. I really love the spirit of couchsurfing and meeting people who are different than me, especially in this age of disconnect. I haven't had many opportunities to host, but it was very rewarding for the brief summer when I lived in a house by myself.

Interests

I'm a dancing machine.

I like biking, kiteboarding, rollerblading, camping, beer, cheese, wandering around cities, star-gazing, trees and all green things, dogs and alpacas, musical theater. I try to hit up all the festivals/events in my area and love people watching.

I really like to get to know people and hear what is on their hearts.

Music, Movies, and Books

I will never claim to be an expert on any subject, but I just know that I like what I like.

If I have to say...for music, I like when genres overlap...rock-rap, reggae pop, folk-funk, indie-pop, surfy sounds, and oldies.. but I can't tell you any bands I listen to regularly. It's normally just one song from one group on repeat.

For movies, I prefer dark comedies, roms, coms, drams. And of course LOTR.

As far as books go, I like social psychology nonfiction a lot. Sometimes I'll read a few books in a month, but other times it takes me months to read one book.

What I am binging lately...TED radio hour podcasts.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Maintained deep long-distance friendships over the last decade.

Danced and sang around a fire with new Berber friends in the Sahara desert while being swallowed by our starry universe.

Teach, Learn, Share

How about a joke?

A mexican magician tells his audience, "I will disappear on the count of three." He counts down..."Uno...dos.." And then he disappears without a tres.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can be as independent or as social as you want me to be! We can explore together or you can send me off to wander solo.

I like to think I'm a decent listener.

And as a nurse, I *might* be willing to check out that weird mole. ;)
