About Me

I'd consider myself a pretty relaxed person. I like to see the funny side of something rather than taking it too seriously. I'm quite reserved and will almost never raise my voice. I'm more of a listener than a speaker but if I'm comfortable with people around me I won't shy away from a conversation (and a joke or ten). My aspirations have been more aimed at seeing the world than anything career-oriented.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've used Couchsurfing while traveling through Canada, Japan and Europe, and I've hosted people when I've had the opportunity.

Everyone I've met through this site has been great and I've made some good friends from all over the world who I have met up with after our original hosting/surfing. I see it as an opportunity to make friends, and every request I send has this intention behind it.

I reply to every message I receive because, if someone wants to take the time to message me, I may as well do the same. Even if it's a quick reply/explanation, it's still better than nothing at all which I'm sure most people agree is somewhat of a kick in the nuts.

Interests

My biggest interest is music. I love discovering new artists and then finding others of a similar style. This has lead to me collecting music of hugely different genres, and going to some amazing concerts.

I'm into a few different sports (although admittedly I'm more a watcher than a player) like football, tennis and my childhood love of pro wrestling still hasn't died.

I love to laugh, whether it's at a comedy show, movie or just having fun conversations with people.

I also draw cartoons, a hobby which has come in handy while traveling and needing something to break language barriers.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music ranges from hip-hop to heavy metal, 80s disco to Japanese pop and (almost) everything in between. If it's a noise, I'll give it a chance.

I love any film with good dialogue (In Bruges, Pulp Fiction, The Big Lebowski) but also have a soft-spot for monster movies and mindless action. My favourite film of all time is Jurassic Park. I'm willing to give virtually anything a watch, no matter how bad it may be (I'm looking at you, Megashark vs Giant Octopus).

I follow a lot of TV dramas, the obvious ones being Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad and Homeland. I'm also a fan of comedy shows like Parks and Recreation, Louie, South Park and Peep Show.

I tend to read fantasy novels but have recently started reading more factual books to try and learn new things
