About Me

Born and raised in Venice, CA. Mom moved here from Ireland, so I’ve spent a fair amount of time there visiting family. I’m a nerdy hipster teacher type. I’m extremely passionate about the things I care about, namely games, philosophy, and justice. I get to travel a lot running Magic The Gathering tournaments, and I prefer to trade experiences, stories, and acts of service before trading dollars.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting people and seeing the world. I hope to get off planet in my life time, but I'd like to see as much of this place as I can in the mean time

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Chika, DojaCat, Ashniko, Qveen Herby, Janelle Monae, Pomplamoose, Julia Nunes, Carsie Blanton. Folky rocky female singer songwriter types. Recently I’ve listened to a lot of Watsky and Billie Eilish. Also recently discovered the Burning Cop Car Podcast, which features anarchist hip-hop from all around the world
Books: Harry Potter, John Green novels, An Absolutely Remarkable Thing, Paulo Coehlo, The Principal Discordia

I don't think I've seen a movie in theaters this decade. Not that I don’t like movies, I’m just not a fan of the theater experiences. I enjoy most genres, though I’m not particularly drawn to horror. Love watching documentaries, especially when they conflict with what I already know.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent a year home schooling a 9 year old while assisting her mother with getting sober. It was hard work, but it was rewarding and successful, until I was chased out of the home by some unsavory neighbors.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you about nerdy games, or LGBTQ+ culture, or post 2000 meme culture.

I’d love to learn other languages, other perspectives

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m a natural domestic, so I will happily clean and cook for you. I also do a bit of spoken word poetry, if that’s a thing that interests you. And if you wanna learn to play magic, let me know and I’ll bring you some decks!

Countries I’ve Visited
