About Me

Hey! I'm Jack, a 21 year old very easy going languages student from Liverpool, England. I'm currently travelling East Africa solo, from Khartoum to Nairobi and places in between!

I'm a fan of all types of music - jazz, dance, indie, pop, soul - you name it - and I'm keen to learn lots about the places I visit, I speak English, Spanish and Arabic and can communicate in basic French, teach me some of your language!

I also love trying new foods, particularly new flavours and exciting fruits and meats I've not yet come across from places only locals know about!

Looking forward to hosting too, when I'm back in Liverpool/Leeds in the UK later this summer!

Music, Movies, and Books

Difficult question!

Music wise, anything by Stereophonics, The Killers, One Republic and any classic 90s hits, but also the likes of Tracy Chapman, London Grammar, Dido, Bruce Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac and more modern things by the likes of Sia, Bastille, Rita Ora etc.

Books I love! I've just read the Alchemist and I'm currently reading the incredibly moving A Thousand Splendid Suns, by Khalid Hosseini. A particular favourite of mine is Mister Pip, an interesting story by Lloyd Jones which beautifully conveys the immense power of literature in the minds of young children on a remote island.

Films - action/comedy I'll watch with pleasure and a smile on my face!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once did the world's highest bungee jump - off a skyscraper in Macau.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll happily show you my favourite places locally, take you for a few drinks and show you the sights of my hometown and best and often overlooked sights for excellent views of the skyline.

If you want, too, I'll also teach you a little Arabic and teach you the basics in the language and help you find some fantastic food, whatever the type you feel like. I know good places!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share laughs, beers and stories of epic adventures. I'll also try and introduce you to some of my favourite poetry and wax lyrically about my amazingly friendly hometown, Liverpool.

If you want, too, I'll also teach you a little Arabic and teach you the basics in to converse in the language
