About Me

Just graduated from Durham University studying maths and physics and now looking to broaden my horizons travelling with my girlfriend, Hannah. Currently in Argentina, aiming to explore some of the many delights of South America! Originally from Devon, England, meaning I love the outdoors, particularly the beach! I love listening to people's stories and am hoping to make some more of my own.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When travelling, Hannah and I prefer to settle in one place for a longer period of time to get to know it better. I feel like meeting people through Couchsurfing will mean we get an even more personal connection and allow us to meet some great people.

Interests

I love being outside and also enjoy sports! This means that my favourite hobbies are things such as surfing, paddle boarding, rugby. I also enjoy camping, games and much more!

Music, Movies, and Books

Easy-listening music, easy-watching films, easy-reading books!

I like artists such as alt-J, Milky Chance and Coldplay but am happy to listen to anything and love discovering new artists.

I have read too many academic books in recent years and not done enough reading purely for pleasure. I would love to do more reading of novels and am hoping to find the time now I've finished university.

Enjoy lots of films from many genres. Hard to pick favourites but some of enjoyed recently are Snatch, The Big Short, Warrior...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my most memorable experiences was a trip to the Sahara desert from Morocco when on a previous trip with Hannah. After a camel trip into the desert we stayed the night in nomad tents. Before bed we climbed to the top of the tallest nearby sand dune with some of the other travellers. It was a tough climb with mega winds and lots of sand in our eyes but the view under moonlight from the top, and the sky above was incredible. This is the most amazing thing I've done as it was so different to anything else I've done!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a good listener and have a very curious mind. I love listening to stories and learning about people, places, culture, history.

I am currently learning Spanish (early days!) and so would love the opportunity to practise. I am more than willing to help people with English. Have been studying maths and science for a number of years so can also teach this (although not everyone is interested!).

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to play games and would love to share this with hosts! I like card games and dice games and recently have developed a passion for 'The Game of Pigs'! I'd love to teach hosts as well as learn some more games, after cooking up a meal for us to share (not a Michelin star chef yet!).
