Meeting people, locals and travelers, are way more interesting than staring at buildings. Just find that getting to know the culture through people's experience is a lot more fun than from books and internet. Plus I dont know how to talk to a wall...

Wow, any outdoor activities that would bring out the little boy in me. Kayaking, river trekking, or caving. Sharing some laughs over drinks, ofcourse, not by myself...and hopefully not with creepy guys. oh and love love love lounge bar, or any place that's chilled-out.
