Overview
About Me
I'm an Australian author (http://jacknicholls.net/), currently writing a science-fiction novel set in Iceland, a country I fell in love with back in 2014. I'm coming back to Iceland on a research trip, and would love to get to know more of it's amazing people.
I'm cheerful, inquisitive, and always looking to learn more about the world and its inhabitants.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been to Iceland twice before and loved it, but only got to know other travellers. I am hoping to meet more locals this time. I am particularly interested in chatting to anybody who knows about Iceland's technology, energy, communications or food systems, as they are all areas I have been researching.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Bowie, Nick Cave, Rolling Stones, Meatloaf, Taylor Swift - anything with emotion and gusto.
Books: Fantasy/SF, European weird (Kafka, Schulz, etc.), history, non-fiction
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hosting a panel of geneticists to discuss the real possibility of cloning extinct species, as in Jurassic Park.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love history and talking about it. I've written essays and stories on film culture, politics and technology, and happy to debate any question under the sun. I also love travelling and hearing other people's points of view.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Humour, conversation and willing to be the butt of jokes about Australian stereotypes. I'm not an amazing cook but I've lived with people who are, and I'm happy to put together a couple of meals if people are interested.
Countries I’ve Lived In
