About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Now that my nomadic life is slower, and I tend to have a base for 6-12 months, I would love to host people and give back to the community of Couchsurfing, as it was such a gift whilst I was a traveller. Saying that, I still look forward to surfing, as I find it is the best way to travel by far :)

ABOUT ME

After finishing my studies in 2013, I took a one-way flight to India. My nomadic self took over, and I would never be the same.

I travelled avidly between 2014-2020, mostly in South East Asia, spending my days exploring the world and myself. I couch surfed a lot, and am forever grateful for the amazing people I have met through this platform. My chef skills always came in handy during my travels, to cook for my hosts, secure seasonal jobs and host pop-up events around the world.

In 2020 I fell in love on a little Mediterranean island called Gozo in Malta. During the pandemic, I set up a homemade food delivery business that really took off, which was fun and stressful. The venture came to an end as soon as the gates to the world opened again in 2022.

I have always had a strong connection with food. So much so that is has been my way to communicate and connect with the world around me, both on a personal and professional level. I love intimate dinners with good food and deep conversation.

In 2021, my curiosity drove me to explore the world of Web3 and NFTs, and so I started learning until I knew enough to get a job. I believe the technology will impact all industries and bring new opportunities to all of us. I am just fascinated by it all.

I love change and kind of need it to feel alive - I cannot be still for too long. I love brainstorming, learning, creating and being part of new projects. Travelling solo to new places and meeting new people fills me with wonder and awe.

I enjoy time to myself but equally love meeting people and exchanging life experiences. I am not much of a party animal, and much prefer an early rise over a late night out.

Maybe references below from people I have met or who have hosted me are a good way to get a feeling for me...?

PHILOSOPHY

Knowing that ultimately I don't know humbles me and puts everything into perspective.
The less I have, the more I am.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a solo traveller, the Couchsurfing platform and community was one of the biggest blessings. Meeting and staying with local people became my favourite way to travel. I am so grateful for the experiences and friends I made along the way.

Now that my nomadic life is slower, and I tend to have a base for 6-12 months, I would love to host people and give back to the community of Couchsurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books

When I find a song I like I listen to it over and over again! Bit boring I know! haha
Not a massive reader, but if I do they are always non-fiction books on topics such as psychology and philosophy.
All sorts of movies, although there are not many good ones these days.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Joined Couchsurfing.
Lived as a NOMAD for 5 years.
10 day Vipassana Silent Retreat.

Lived with monks in Burma for 1 month.
Organized 7 supper clubs in 7 different countries over a 2 month period.

Teach, Learn, Share
