À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

Hey!
My name is Giacomo, but everybody calls me Jack, even my parents, and you can do that too:)
I'm usually busy with work and there's not much room here, however I do my best to host someone every now and then.

I enjoy the simple things such as reading a good book, listening to music, playing music on guitar, hanging out with friends and my partner in crime, playing soccer or volleyball, meeting new people and being on the road.
I love being outside in general and spending as much time as I can in Nature and my new wish is to see the last remaining ancient trees in Europe.
I care about the environment, therefore I try to be more responsible in how I nourish myself with a vegetarian diet and in the footprint I leave on the planet. In this respect, I believe it's high time we left our anthropocentric take on food, and life in general, behind.

Through couchsurfing I seek connection with like-minded people, inspiration, friendship, and yes, a surface to crash on during my travels.

I cherish my friendships and welcome the new ones.
Anyhow, see ya out there in real life!
Peace out.

PHILOSOPHY
I like and find this quote by John Muir inspiring: "The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness ".

As Thoreau put it two centuries ago: " in wilderness is the preservation of the world". Too bad we aren't pulling it off.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By hosting and surfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Been using CS both as a host and a surfer for the past 9 years with varying degrees of consistency and so far it's been awesome! CS has enabled me to meet amazing people from so many places, and some of them are close friends now despite the distance.
I'm here on CS to help fellow travellers/humans reduce economic barriers to travelling while possibly having a good time together, and to meet locals/new people in general when I'm on the road.
Through this rad community I aim at turning my travels into more meaningful and enriching experiences.

For the super horny guys who write "female" under the voice "preferred gender": this is not Tinder, in case you didn't know. Plenty of other places for you to try and engage in sexual intercourse:)

Centres d'intérêt

Not necessarily in the following order:

Music
Reading
Languages
Wildlife
The ocean and forests

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Slept under the stars in the Australian outback and the Sahara desert.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I'm happy to share generally anything I know, such as my own language and its incredible amount of swearwords, maybe some Italian songs and a bit of guitar, not to mention whistling without opening your mouth, though I just mentioned it, but it's quite hard :) and am keen to learn anything from you, especially random words or phrases of other languages, typical dishes of your country, and about your culture, of course!
I always share the little food I have in the fridge or in the pantry.
Would love to improve my Portuguese and Spanish, as well as to retrieve my German that's got a little rusty recently.
Being vegeterian I'm also interested in learning new veggie and vegan recipes.

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

First of all: my friendship. Free hugs, heaps of smiles, pats on the back, a shoulder to cry on, anecdotes, good conversations, silliness, a couple of recipes, some beautiful songs to be played on acoustic guitar if you happen to have one:)
