Overview
About Me
I am a 24-year-old Engineer/People person taking life one day at a time hoping to find the right career while also balancing my interests. I am looking to travel, broaden my understanding of life, culture, and career by meeting interesting people. I am a resilient, go-getter who prides himself in being honest an independent. I grew up in La Paz, Bolivia moved to the United States to study, and have plans to move in the near future. I am a free-thinking, open hearted person looking to attract a tribe of people who are passionate about life, love, and people. I am creative and love to repurpose things, come up with new ideas, and more importantly make things happen. I love being exposed to new cultures and food. I love being outdoors from hiking to biking, and swimming to climbing.
From an outsider’s perspective I am a fun, chatty person who loves a good conversation about what people are passionate about. I am motivated to meet people and learn from them (also teach them a thing or two!).
I am a well-versed traveler with over 24 countries under my belt. I have experienced travel from hiking across the Alps in Austria to volunteering in the Wild Coast of South Africa. I have stayed with hosts in Croatia and Germany, hostels in South America, and camped in the United States.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As a 24-year-old, traveling has become one of my passions, but the real reason I travel is to meet people with different perspectives. I could stay at a hostel and meet fellow travelers, but sometimes the goal isn’t to just go to the touristy sites but rather go on an intellectual adventure with locals. I want to meet the people who know their home city and are willing to share why it is the best city in the world! I have met many people who have couch surfed before and have heard nothing but good experiences. I also want to make new friends!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Wrote and published a poetry book!
The book, On Display, is a testament of my mental journey after the breakup of a three-year relationship. The book is a compelling self-discovery in which I find sense and purpose while preparing myself for some challenges. I tried my best to present a candid look at my heart with shocking honesty. It was an amazing experience, I would love to talk to people about the publishing process.
Teach, Learn, Share
• Spanish - I have tutored Spanish in school and am more than happy to help you learn!
• Photography/Video – I can make videos and take professional grade pictures for you, your business, your Instagram, or tiktok!
• Poetry - I can discuss poetry with you all you want!
• Engineering - With a bachelor’s degree in engineering I'm always willing to discuss science and engineering.
What I Can Share with Hosts
• Education - I hold a degree in engineering from West Virginia University providing me with skills in research, critical thinking, and problem solving. I have developed a pretty good relationship with excel and I can make very clean spreadsheets.
• General Labour - I have worked in simple construction projects from building simple furniture to assisting building additions to buildings.
• Photo and video editing - I love to document the special moments in life. I have made and edited videos for a few film competitions and projects over the past few years. Check out this video I made one day (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzsqR8QyJyY&t=3s)
• Computer Skills - Like most people my age I can most likely fix your internet problems, but I can do a little more than that if you need help backing up, restoring, creating templates, or even replacing parts, I'm your man.
• Creative brainstorming - I have worked part time with an entrepreneurship incubator for a few months and have had a lot of fun brainstorming ideas. I have helped develop programmes and events from the ground up in the areas of STEM outreach and sustainability.
• Practical Solutions - As a university student in the United States I have developed a true spirit of practicality. I have spent a decent amount of time in places with no modern facilities (running water or electricity) and have learned the best ways to adapt. I have also worked in a gold mine where a rock hammer and a screwdriver where my only tool to fix any issues.
• Event planning - I have experience planning parties, charity events, local cleanups, and get togethers. I love themed events and am always willing to go the extra mile to make people enjoy an event.
• Cooking - I'm an adventurous cook always looking to increase my recipe book. I have helped professional chefs prepare a few meals and have taken classes on pasta, ice cream, and meat preparation (though I prefer vegetarian dishes!).
• Cleaning - I love to clean (that is not an exaggeration!) I am more than happy to help clean anything, but would prefer not to become your personal house keeper!
• Organisation - With some experience in project management I have learned that being organised can lead to positive results. I have organised charity efforts and shoots for videos while at university. I also love excel spreadsheets (which is how I keep myself organised)!
• Social media management - I have worked with multiple organizations at my university to diversify their social media outreach specifically through instagram and twitter.
• Driving - I have a clean driving record with experience towing large trailers, off roading, and simple maintenance.
• Music - I love to discuss music and its impact on people's lives. I play the guitar and have a keen interest in learning the piano.
• Gardening - I have minimal experience in gardening but have read up a lot on the best practices. I don't mind getting down and dirty to clear weeds or brush, and I can happily help transform a garden to the one of your dreams.
• Fast Learner - I love to learn skills and theory and can learn anything you need me to!
